August 16th

A big day in Ada, Mn August 16th for the local foods tour. I got a small grant so we are doing a local foods tour. It should be fun! We will tour a bison ranch, grape growers farm, and a CSA.

Fisher cat really a weasel

Lately we have had a very un- welcomed guest, a fisher. I didn't even know what a fisher was till just lately someone just told me about them. They are in the weasel family and look like a cat/weasel. You can hear their sound which is awful. And yes they do eat cats!

The Northern Lights were so bright last night. The photo does not even capture all of the color. the colors danced over the sky. Pink, purple, green and yellow.. just to name a few. The night was just stunning!

The drought is causing major problems. The corn is not filling out because of the dry conditions. The corn is varied to filling out to not developing at all. We will see what happens?

The sunsets are so beautiful in the midwest. We are busy getting ready for harvest and everything is fast forward. So I enjoyed the "gift" of a colorful sunset and enjoyed a few minutes of taking it in.

Rooftop garden

The roof top at the HODO restaurant is designed by us. This year, since May when we did the project and the chefs have been using edible flowers and herbs. It took us most of the day to get the project but well worth it. Here Michele, a family friend, posed for the picture and enjoyed the view looking over the city.
